Advice 1: How to connect the fans to the motherboard

Additional fans installed in the system unit of the computer to prevent overheating of certain equipment. You need to choose the right cooler to have the device operate consistently and provide sufficient cooling.
You will need
  • - Phillips screwdriver.
Instruction
1
First determine the type of fastening of the fan. To do this, open the system unit and visually examine options for the installation of the cooler. Usually use screws or glue. The latter option is only suitable for the connection of the fan with the radiator, because gluing the cooler to the chip is strictly prohibited.
2
Now select the fan power. Find out the speed of rotation of the blades. This this parameter depends directly on the degree of cooling of the device to which is attached the cooler. To the parent Boardusually joins only one fan installed on the heatsink of the CPU. This is a very important part of the computer, so choose a sufficiently powerful cooler.
3
Determine the type of power connection for the selected fan. On the mother Board should be connectors consisting of 2, 3 or four pins. If on the mother Board are no free connectors for connection of the fan, select another device, such as a graphics card to which you will be able to connect the cooler.
4
Attach the fan to the heatsink of the CPU. Remember that both of these devices are usually sold with the kit. If you only purchased the fan, ensure that it is securely fastened. If not promptly determine a failure of the cooler, it may cause damage to your CPU.
5
Connect the power to the fan. Turn on the computer and make sure that the cooler is stable. After the operating system install SpeedFan and run it.
6
View temperature sensor installed on the CPU. If the temperature is too high, increase the speed of rotation of the blades. Do not close the program, to be able to periodically assess the state of the CPU.

Advice 2: Where to connect fan

Additional fans are used in computers to provide component cooling. All coolers are installed inside the computer and are connected to the appropriate power connector on the motherboard. Any slot should be selected according to the type of radiator and its location.
Instruction
1
Disconnect the computer from power and open the cover, removing the rear panel screws with a screwdriver. On some computers the side wall rests on special mounts, which should be loosened to gain access to the contents of the case.
2
Removing the side wall, define the place of installation of the cooler. It should be defined depending on the role of the installed fan. If you plan to install the fan on blowing, fixing them should be on the back of the computer. To ensure housing cold air set the fan on the front panel, removing the interfering parts with a screwdriver.
3
If you are installing the cooler on the CPU, carefully examine the method of fastening of a radiator. Loosen the clips of the fan and Unscrew the screws with a screwdriver. Remove the radiator and note the port to which the transaction is power connected to the motherboard. Also look at the amount of thermal paste on the processor. If the paste has dried, apply a new thin layer of the composition on the stone.
4
Carefully remove the old cooler and install the new one, then fasten it with screws. Transactions connect power to the motherboard.
5
When installing the cooler, note the presence of connectors for connecting extra cooling to the motherboard. Slots for connection of the fans are referred to as SYS_FAN with the corresponding markings on the motherboard.
6
After installation, secure the fan with screws. Connect the computer to the power supply and turn it on by pressing the appropriate button on the housing. If the connection was done correctly, the fans start to spin. Secure the side cover of the case. Installing fans in computer case completed.
Note
Place, connect the CPU fan to the motherboard CPU_FAN is indicated.
